There is a support for Windows and Linux in VRPN, that is very very easy
to use from OSG. If you do not want to use VRPN and do not want to use
their SDK, the device is fairly easy to figure out - it is a standard
HID-compliant device.

I wrote the Linux VRPN driver for the SpaceNavigator using the Linux
input subsystem in probably one or two hours, without any vendor
documentation or SDK. I can send you the Linux code for if you are
interested.
