[Osg-Users] When to go for OpenSceneGaph-2.2?

Hi All,
I'm writing as call for feedback on whether to go for a 2.2 release
soon, as in the fortnight, before Siggraph, or to wait, add more
features and make it late August?
Pros on making 2.2 sooner rather than later is that 2.0 had a number
of bugs that weren't caught in testing prior to 2.0, but are now fixed
in the 2.1.x releases. The nature and range of these fixes preclude a
binary compatible release so I'm afraid going for a 2.0.x will be
awkward and time consuming - available time is not something I have.
There were also a few feature regressions in 2.0 relative to 1.2 which
are about to be fixed, or have already been fixed as in the case of
pbuffer support. Feature regressions left to fix are things like
configuration/configuration file support and accessibility/control of
rendering classes in osgViewer.
Interesting features that could go into a 2.2 and possible delay it
are support for latest OpenGL extensions such that would bring
Direct3D 10 class functionality to the OSG, and without limiting
platform support to just Vista. Ahh you just gotta love OpenGL ;-)
Thoughts?
Robert.
