Thanks for bearing with this messy plugin, Robert.
If the decision is made to move the plugin to a later version of
OpenVRML with Boost, it will have to be re-implemented due to completely
different API. I have received a patch from one developer doing this, so
it is possible.
On the other hand, there will be no visible benefit apart from perhaps
easier maintenance, because the plugin uses only the parser from
OpenVRML which didn't change much between the versions.
If someone knows about a portable and small library for parsing VRML, I
will be very interested (I know about Coin3D and it is neither small nor
working properly).
